Is it too early to think about holiday gifts?

I know, it isn't December yet, but my class has a ton of things going on in the next two weeks.  Our last day is December 8th, so I have to get busy quickly!  This week we are doing a project based learning unit on "The 5 Senses" (I will post that stuff soon).  Today, I decided to make a quick gift for all of our school family people.  I had the kids decorate the margins of paper and we made stationary for our Principal, Secretary, and Title 1 people.

They turned out really cute!

I scanned the plain paper into my computer and added the file to Word.  I shrunk each file so that 4 fit on a page and printed them on colored paper.  I added a cute bow and a gift tag.  What a cute and easy gift to give all of the people who help our classroom.  Now for ideas for our parents.  Any suggestions?

  1. I LOVE the stationary gift! I will be doing that this week! :) I also do two things for my parents. I find old records, spray paint them regular green and then with lime green acrylic paint I do the kids hand prints around to make a wreath. We sometimes do thumbprint berries and then add a bow and it is a precious gift!
Also, I buy regular ball ornaments and do the finger snowman!

    Merry Christmas!

  2. I forgot about the finger snowmen ornaments. I love doing that! I have some old records up in my attic. I think I will go and get them now! Thanks for the great idea!

  3. How cute. I don think ts too early to think of gifts. I just pulled out my wrapping paper so I can start wrapping the books and pencils I got for my students. I figure I would do 5 a day and get them done in no time.

I am making a picture wreath for my students gen Ed teachers. What I am doing is giving each student a circle to decorate. Next, I put the students pictures, also cut into a circle, in the center. We then paste it on to a paper plate, with the center cut out. Punch a hole and put a string through the hole. I do all sorts of little things to decorate it but that's the gist of it. Don't forget a bow!

I think if you make he pictures small enough or the wreath big enough you can get a whole class in there. Oh I also laminate the circles with pictures for durability.

I think I'll have to make one and blog about it.
