I did the Chocolate Chip Excavation years ago with my K's, but lost all of my stuff in the move to WV, so I made a little activity to launch our Rock unit.
I love teaching! I have taught 13 years of Kindergarten, 4 years of first grade, 2 years of 6th grade (YUCK), Title 1 Reading, and now I am back in a Kindergarten classroom! Wooo Hooo! I have spent most of my time teaching in the inner city of Tampa, Florida and moved to West Virginia, where I am teaching in another inner city school. I wrote a book titled 101 Things Every Kindergartener Should Know About Phonics.
I also teach yoga, love to create anything (paint, refinish furniture, sew), am a mother to two wonderful boys (5 and 8) and a wife. I love to learn, so I am not sure what is on my list to do next!
Thanks for sharing!! :)

This is so great. We did this in college for one of our education classes. That was so much fun. I had forgot about it. :)
