I hope everyone is enjoying their last few days of school.
I am excited, but sad.
I was offered a job in "KINDERGARTEN" at my children's school. The school is a block away from my house, so I can walk to school everyday with my own kiddo's.
I was offered a job in "KINDERGARTEN" at my children's school. The school is a block away from my house, so I can walk to school everyday with my own kiddo's.
The decision was difficult because I was going to a brand new school with new everything!
I prayed about it, and decided that I needed to be a mom first and then a teacher. I know...shocking for all of us teachers. We give everything to our students!
I am sad to leave first grade, but kindergarten is my passion! I love it more than any other grade.
So...with that said, I may have to change the title of my blog. Not sure what it is going to be....
Anyways, as a thank you to all of you guys for putting up with my MIA, I am giving all of you my first ever unit I made. It is about 9 years old now, but it has some good stuff in it for K-1 classes. It is black and white, so it will be easier on ink. :)

Best of luck on your new adventure. I also took a job in my child's school. I would not trade it for the world! Nice to pass in the hall and get a wave or a hug. Our ride to and from school is a great time to talk about our day.
ReplyDeleteLove the ocean unit--- oh love Kindergarten too!
ReplyDeleteCongrats!
Jennifer
Thanks for sharing your unit. And congrats to you on your new job! A block for your house, the grade you love and your children's school!! Doesn't get any better! How about changing your blog name to Kindergarten Teaching? :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for the unit. I am thinking of putting out the patterning pages and sentences stips and letting my students create their own patterns. This will be great for my early finishers too! I am always looking for fun things for them to do that are still academic while the rest of the class finishes the work assigned.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new job!! I love kindergarten, I am finishing my 7th year in kindergarten and still love it! :)
Hooray Kindergarten!!! I love teaching kindergarten it is where my passion is too! Thank you for sharing your ocean unit!

Thanks so much Kristin for sharing your huge sea animals unit and for all you do in the blogging world. Congratulations to moving on. Change is always tough. I will miss your first grade blog but will continue to follow you when you change over to Kindergarten. I think you're terrific! You are lucky that you will be able walk to school with the gas prices these days. Enjoy that extra time you gain with your boys. Kindergarten is magic:)
