Homework Calendars for Kindergarten and 1st Grade
I use a spiral notebook and staple these homework calendars to the inside of the front. I do give "Spelling Words" but I do not give tests. I know the kids know the words when I see it in their writing and they can recognize it and read it during reading groups.
Homework is given at the beginning of the month. I have the students turn it in on every Friday. It is the student's responsibility to turn it in. I have done this for the past 8 years, and it is so easy for me. I don't have to make copies, the homework stays in the spiral notebook, and it is easy to check.
